I grew up on a farm in southeast Kansas and graduated from Erie High School in 1984. I played basketball at Neosho County Community College and then transferred to Pittsburg State University where I received my Bachelors Degree in 1988. (Go Gorillas!!) I attended Mid America Nazarene University and received my Masters Degree in 2005.
This is my 25th year of teaching at WES. I have taught 4th grade every year...except for one year, when I taught 3rd grade. Prior to teaching at WES, I taught 8th grade in the Altamont School District and 4th & 5th grades in Arizona on the an Apache Reservation. Besides teaching, I have coached cross country, basketball, and track.
I married Darin in 2014. He is also a WHS graduate. :-) He is an avid hunter, loves the Wildcats, and has taught me many gardening skills. We have taken a couple of vacations to Cozumel and hope to take many more.
Arizona has a special place in my heart because that is where my daughter, Jordan, was born in 1991. She attended Pre-k thru 12th grades in the Wellsville school system where she was involved in many activities. She also attended Pitt State where she got her nursing degree. She is currently a nurse at St. Luke’s. Jordan married Zach Hoehn in 2016 and they reside in Spring Hill. (Yea!! She lives close to us!!!)
I feel extremely blessed to have a wonderful family and the opportunity to teach in such an outstanding school. This community has been a great place to raise my daughter and I feel privileged to work with some amazing teachers.
