About Linda Robinson

Welcome 5th grade student and parents,

My name is Linda Robinson and I will be your teacher this year!  I’m so excited about the new school year and all of the things we are planning to investigate.

I want to tell you a little bit about myself before you begin this adventure in fifth grade.  I live outside of Pomona and have three grown children.  Both of my daughters are living and working in the Topeka area.  My son and his wife live and work in Pomona.  This is my 17th year of teaching and my 13th year of teaching fifth grade.  Prior to teaching, I spent ten years as a Para Educator within the intermediate grades.  I am looking forward to learning and working with you this year.

Your child is very important to me and I want to provide the best possible environment for learning to take place.  Please take time to read the behavior form attached to the bottom of this note.  I truly believe that positive behavior and a good attitude set the foundation for the success of each student in my classroom.  I am hopeful that you will discuss my expectations with your son or daughter and that these characteristics will be modeled throughout the year.

Keeping the lines of communication open between home and school is essential. Please know that I will contact you at the first sign of a problem or concern I may have regarding your child.  Furthermore, I want you to feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  My school number is (785) 883-2996 ext. 1223, toll free number (866) 883-2388 ext. 1223, home number is (785) 418-8415.  You may also reach me through e-mail at lrobinson@usd289.org

Behavior

  1. Be responsible for yourself.  Do not rely on others to tell you what is right.  You know the procedures, choose to follow them.
  2. Be attentive and listen in class.  I will expect you to take notes.
  3. Do your homework and turn it in on time.
  4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, but avoid unnecessary questions that waste time.  If you listen carefully, many things have already been explained.
  5. Try your best at all times, in your work and behavior.

Respect

  1. Respect yourself.
  2. Respect your classmates.
  3. Respect your school.
  4. Respect your teachers and adult leaders.
