Hello! I grew up in Lawrence, KS and graduated from the University of Kansas with my degree in Human Development and Family Life. From there I began working on a federally funded research project in the special education program and started taking classes. I started my teaching career in Wellsville in this program!
Teaching is my passion and there is nothing else I would rather do. I love to find new ways to make learning fun. I have had lots of opportunities that have helped me “fuel my fire!” Some of those experiences include the Circle of Inclusion and TaCTICS projects at KU as a project assistant. I have worked at various special education classrooms at the university as well as numerous local programs in Lawrence that contract with Lawrence Public Schools to provide quality special education services for students. Before that worked in the children’s section at Lawrence Public Library and in local daycares and centers.
I married my high school sweetheart, Tom, and we have three beautiful daughters: Audrey, Allee, and Olivia. We also have a plethora of animals at the house that I sometimes bring into the school to become classroom pets!
Thank you for sharing your children with me this year. I will do everything I can to make sure that this preschool experience is a wonderful one for you and your child. If there is ever anything you need to talk to me about, please send me an e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org, or call me at 785.883.2996 ext. 1212. I will be happy to visit with you anytime!
