Classroom Guidance Lessons:
All classroom guidance lessons will be taught on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I will be teaching classroom guidance lessons to the students in grades 2-5. Our new counselor, Mrs. Ladewig, will be teaching guidance classes to the students in grades K-1. Students will have guidance classes every other week for 30 minutes during their specials time. Every month the lessons focus on a new character trait. Click here to see a list of our Character Traits by month. The purpose of classroom guidance lessons is to enhance the development of students' academic, career and personal/social skills. Topics that are also discussed during our lessons include: peer relations, individual differences, substance abuse awareness and prevention, conflict resolution, and manners. At WES, students are reminded to use their manners with our "Manner of the Week." Click here to see our "Manner of the Week" list. This is just a fun way to encourage our students to be respectful and polite to everyone they meet!
Individual and Small Group Counseling:
I offer individual and small group counseling to students who may need support in dealing with personal issues such as: making friends, moving, adjusting to a new school, family divorce, death of a family member/family pet, home stress, bullying, etc. Please contact me at anytime if you would like to set up individual or small group counseling for your child. You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 785-883-2996 ext. 3134.
